Security Training, Education, and Professionalization Portal Instructions

Note - users can create their own Security Training, Education, and Professionalization Portal (STEPP) account. If a user requests a STEPP account, send them the following instructions.

  1. Visit the STEPP login page
  2. Click the 'create new account button located at the bottom right of the screen.
  3. Click the "Continue" button.
  4. Enter a new user name.
  5. Complete the password, names, and email fields.
  6. Select academic institution as the organization.
  7. Click the "Create Account" button.
  8. On the next page, complete only the "only required" fields.
    • For Military or GS Grade select: other
    • For supervisors name: John Talerico

  9. Click the "finish account" button.
  10. A successful submission will result in a confirmation page and a confirmation email.
  11. You can now return to the STEPP login page and login with the username and password you created.
  12. Once logged in, you can search for the course you need by entering the course number in the "Search Courses" section on the right hand side of the screen.
