Research Development Services

The Office of Research Development supports the research community at Virginia Tech primarily through providing resources and training that cover a broad range of faculty and proposal types. In some cases, we are also able to coordinate proposal reviews by external consultants.
For large (generally >$10 million), complex proposals, the office can offer a more tailored set of services designed to leverage university resources in a coordinated way and free faculty to focus on teambuilding, technical planning, and scholarship. These services include
- Strategy and planning.
- Coordination of cost share and institutional commitments
- Writing and editing.
- Project management and coordination.
- Graphics support.
- Assistance with forms and letters.
- Coordinating internal and external reviews.
- Support in preparing for site visits.
