Individuals who have active personnel security clearances with Virginia Tech must complete several training requirements. One of these requirements is to attend the Annual Security Refresher Training. In addition to this requirement and the Restricted Research Training requirement for any Technology Control Plans, four (4) self-guided, online, trainings are required.
These individual trainings must be completed and certificates submitted to OESRC prior to indoctrination in order to gain access unless waived by FSO in writing. Additionally, these trainings must be kept current (last completion dates no older than 2 years) in order to remain compliant for access.
All four (4) required trainings are available on the Center for Development of Security Excellence’s (CDSE) Security Awareness Hub and can be accessed by visiting https://cdse.usalearning.gov/.
Cleared individuals will need to complete the following trainings:
- Cybersecurity Awareness
- Marking Special Categories of Classified Information
- Derivative Classification
- OPSEC Awareness for Military Members, DOD Employees and Contractors
Upon completion of each course, you must email the certificate of completion to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Non-compliance may result in suspension of access to any classified information, including removal from active visit requests, until courses are complete.
If you have any questions or would like to know your current training expiration dates, please contact email@example.com.
