Research Focus
At Virginia Tech, I am working to develop an innovative sensitive and rapid detection method to concentrate and detect low quantities of virus (e.g., SARS-CoV-2) in large sample volumes. It will work as a universal rapid detection method preparing us well for the next pandemic virus.

Why did you choose to pursue postdoctoral training at Virginia Tech?
I choose to pursue postdoctoral training at Virginia Tech since it can provide me with the experiences necessary to diversify my skills and knowledge set outside of graduate work and expand my publication record. Moreover, Virginia Tech can assist me in achieving my career goal by providing  a postdoctoral community with rich professional development and career resources. What I can learn from these resources will be invaluable for my career development.

What are you most looking forward to as you begin in this fellowship at Virginia Tech?
I am looking forward to engaging in the professional development opportunities offered through the fellowship program and my research group, including developing my research skills, communication skills, and leadership and management skills. All of these will definitely help me be well prepared for my future career goal to be a university professor.
