Research Focus
Imagine you have computing devices like smartphones, wearables, or smart home appliances. With edge intelligence, instead of sending all collected data to a distant server, these devices can analyze data right where you are, providing intelligent services like virtual assistants, home controls, or augmented/virtual reality experiences. Furthermore, they can collaborate with each other, facilitating faster and smarter decision-making without the need to wait for or access a remote server. This self-initiated and self-sustaining ecosystem of edge intelligence holds the full potential of the Internet of Things, enabling a new generation of intelligent, real-time responsive systems across various industries.

Why did you choose to pursue postdoctoral training at Virginia Tech?
Virginia Tech is an excellent institution for conducting research in my area of interest, thanks to its robust faculty expertise, research centers, and collaborations with industry partners. These research centers provide opportunities for potential collaboration with AI experts, and Virginia Tech has established partnerships with industries to advance critical areas such as federated learning and edge AI, which align perfectly with my research interests. Additionally, the university's commitment to innovation and sustainability is well-aligned with the goals of research projects focusing on edge intelligence and its application in intelligent network systems.

What are you most looking forward to as you begin in this fellowship at Virginia Tech?
I am particularly excited about collaborating with postdoctoral researchers in their respective diverse fields of study, as well as alongside esteemed mentors within the fellowship program.
