Institutional Biosafety Committee Meeting Schedule

Upcoming Tentative Meeting Dates

(Meetings often occur the second Tuesday of each month, 2-5:00 p.m.)

If a submission needs to be reviewed at an Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) meeting, the completed submission (protocol or amendment) must be submitted on or before the listed deadline.

* This meeting will fall on the third Tuesday.

The IBC meets in-person, but also has a Zoom attendance option. To attend the meeting via Zoom, contact the IBC Administrator (ibc@vt.edu) for the Zoom information.

Parking is available in the connected garage. The garage can be accessed with a F/S parking permit, or individuals can pay an hourly rate to park in the garage. Virginia Tech employees and students cannot use a chaser ticket to exit the garage.

In accordance with the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) “Implementation Update: Promoting Maximal Transparency Under the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules” for Virginia Tech IBC meetings taking place on or after Jun. 1, 2025, the IBC will post approved meeting minutes. When posted, those minutes can be accesseder here. IBC meeting minutes will be posted immediately after all approvals are finalized.
