Pan Distribution

The Project Authorization Notice (PAN) is a notice sent via email to notify the Principal Investigator and designated departmental personnel that a project has been accepted and a fund established.

Once the notice has been issued, work may begin on the project and costs may be charged to the fund (provided the period of performance has begun). A copy of the award document will also accompany the notice.

The notice highlights information of the award document that the principal investigator and departmental personnel should pay particular attention to, as well as provides general information about the project, such as the documentation (Intitutional Review Board, Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee, Award Documents), budget, cost sharing, personnel, and any associated subfunds.
