Succeeding as a Postdoc - Fall 2025
Join us this Fall for 4 weekly discussions centered around Succeeding as a Postdoc.
We will leverage tools and resources from the Postdoc Academy's Succeeding as Postdoc online course to foster discussions particularly relevant for newer postdocs at Virginia Tech.
Sessions will be held online on Thursdays, 4-5 p.m., beginning on September 4 and ending on September 25.
We encourage registrants to attend all four sessions if possible as we will structure this series to build continued engagement amongst the group.
We will explore the transition from Ph.D. student to a postdoc position and how to set yourself up for success as you build professional relationships.
This session will also cover the importance of communication and understanding between a postdoc and a mentor to ensure a successful working relationship.

You’ll look ahead to your next career step and incorporate your short-term goals into a longer-term career plan.
Since there’s many different stages to career planning, we’ll provide you with two options for exploring the career planning process. You can choose your own adventure, if you will.
