Preparing for the Academic Job Market Series 2025

This weekly series, running from Sept. 9 until Sept. 30, is being hosted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Graduate School and open to Virginia Tech postdoctoral associates and graduate students.

This series will provide participants with strategies for effective academic job searches and provide guidance on generating effective application materials. The sessions will include opportunities for self-reflection, analysis of example application materials, and opportunities to create or improve one's own set of materials.

Each session will be held via Zoom from 12 - 1 p.m. on Tuesdays.

• CVs and Cover Letters
  
• Teaching Statements and Portfolios
  
• Research Statements and Related Documents
  

Note: Participation will include short pre-assignments and interactive synchronous sessions that will not be recorded.
