To ensure protocols and amendments are reviewed by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) before the university closes Dec. 24 and reopens on Jan. 2, adhere to the following submission deadlines:

Submission Type and Deadline

Protocols

  • Pain Category B–D: Submit by Nov. 3
  • Pain Category E: Submit six weeks prior to the next convened IACUC meeting*

Amendments

  • Pain Category B–D: Submit by Nov. 10
  • Pain Category E: Submit one month prior to the next convened IACUC meeting* 

*Tentative IACUC meeting dates are Nov. 20 and Dec. 16.

The committee reviews submissions on a first-come, first-served basis and will continue to operate under normal review procedures throughout the season.

Note: submissions received after the deadlines may still be reviewed, but approval before the holiday break is not guaranteed.
