The Office of Export and Secure Research Compliance helps faculty, staff, students and departments comply with U.S. government regulations on disseminating and safeguarding classified and controlled unclassified information that may be restricted for national security or foreign policy reasons. These programs are collectively called “restricted research” and include a research security component.

The office will assist the affected parties in setting up security measures and protocols needed to ensure compliance with export control, sanctions, and research security regulations through the establishment of a technology control plan or other compliance plan.  The office conducts numerous training sessions to educate faculty, staff, students, and department personnel on any research security requirements.

Use information in this section to learn more about individual components of the research security program or contact an Office of Export and Secure Research Compliance team member for questions.
