About the Office of Sponsored Programs
Purpose and Mission
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) serves as the central hub for Virginia Tech’s sponsored research, connecting faculty and departments to the administrative systems that support the research lifecycle. From proposal submission through award closeout, OSP provides coordinated, end‑to‑end support that promotes clarity, reduces risk, and ensures compliance.
The office is comprised of service teams that provide the university with expertise in the following areas: proposal development, contracts and agreements, award management, and financial compliance.
The Office of Sponsored Programs partners with researchers, departments, and sponsors to deliver expert guidance, responsive service, and strong compliance oversight at every stage of sponsored research. Through clear communication and responsible stewardship of resources, OSP enables impactful research and advances Virginia Tech’s mission.
