Signs describing contact procedures for reporting misuse or abuse of animals used in teaching or research have been prominently posted in animal holding facilities across the campus. The text of the sign is provided below:

REPORTING RESEARCH OR TEACHING ANIMAL ABUSE OR IMPROPER CARE OR HANDLING OF ANIMALS USED AT VIRGINIA TECH

Virginia Tech's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) will immediately investigate any allegation of abuse of research or teaching animals, or misconduct regarding animal use in teaching or research. You do not have to identify yourself to make a report of animal abuse. If you choose to identify yourself to the IACUC, your identity will be kept in strictest confidence.
