Brandi Evans

Human Research Protection Program Protocol Coordinator

Responsibilities

Brandi returned to Virginia Tech in 2022 as a Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Protocol Coordinator. Through her previous experience in the Office of Research Compliance at Virginia Tech and in the Communications and Marketing Office in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALHS), she developed skills and an interest in working with the Virginia Tech community of faculty and students.  She enjoys all the aspects of collaborative research, both internally and outside the institution. Her specialty areas include collaborative research, including reliance agreements of varying degrees.

Experience

She started at Virginia Tech in 2005 as the administrative assistant in the Office of Research Compliance, was promoted to Protocol Reviewer in the same office in 2011.  She then moved to work in communications and marketing in CALS as the digital content specialist in 2013, and returned to Virginia Tech as HRPP Protocol Coordinator in 2022. Brandi also has years of experience as a freelance writer and editor.

Education

Brandi is a Hokie and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and professional writing in 2005 and a Master of Science in health promotion in 2008. She also is a Certified Institutional Review Board Professional.
