Succeeding as a Postdoc - Winter 2026
January will feature 4 weekly discussions centered around succeeding as a postdoc.
The discussions will leverage tools and resources from the Postdoc Academy's Succeeding as Postdoc online course to foster discussions particularly relevant for newer postdocs at Virginia Tech.
Sessions will be held online on Thursdays, 4 - 5 p.m., beginning on Jan. 8 and ending on Jan. 29.
Registrants are encouraged to attend all four sessions if possible as the series will be structured to build continued engagement amongst the group.
This session will explore the transition from Ph.D. student to postdoc position, with a focus on building strong professional relationships.
Participants will examine how to set themselves up for success in a postdoc role, including strategies for effective communication and mutual understanding with mentors.
