DOE - Procedures and Responsibilities for Conducting Research Misconduct Allegation Reviews

In addition to the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation, other federal sponsors are including responsible conduct of research training as a requirement or condition of award. Please be aware that you must review the terms and conditions of the award carefully to ensure that you are in compliance with these requirements. Please note that some solicitations will state that proof of training is required prior to the award issuance from the sponsor.

About the Research Integrity Office

The Research Integrity Office is responsible for assessing allegations to determine if they fall within the definition of research misconduct and if the allegation is sufficiently credible and specific to warrant an investigation. The research integrity officer (RIO) also oversees inquiries and investigations, including appointing expert members to inquiry and investigation committees.
