University Research Achievement Awards
Virginia Tech acknowledges faculty making an impact through excellence in scholarship, outreach, and research, elevating Virginia Tech among the top research universities in the world.
The following research awards are provided by the Office of Research and Innovation in collaboration with the Office of Faculty Affairs. The Early Career Scholarly Impact Award, Frontier Award, and Engaged Research Award are funded by the Virginia Tech Alumni Association.

Celebrating Scholarly Excellence Recognition and Awards
Each year, Virginia Tech hosts a celebration to recognize excellence in research. The event honors faculty members who have received prestigious or highly prestigious awards, secured the university’s largest sponsored programs in the past year, or pursued major funding opportunities. It also highlights individuals who have demonstrated exceptional creativity and innovation in their scholarly work.
