2026 Research Administration Conference at Virginia Tech
The Office of Sponsored Programs is excited to host the second annual Research Administration Conference at Virginia Tech on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026.
The conference is a full-day hybrid event dedicated to fostering partnerships and strengthen communication across the university’s research community. Conference presenters will share best practices, strategies, and innovations in research administration. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the university, share knowledge, and build a stronger mutual understanding of processes and expectations.

This year’s conference will be offered in both in-person and virtual formats, giving faculty and staff the flexibility to participate in the format that works best meets their needs.
Note: Oct. 9, 2026 is Fall Break at Virginia Tech and a teacher workday in Montgomery County Public Schools.
Parking
There is ample faculty/staff (F/S) parking near Lavery Hall. View parking locations on the parking services website. If you do not have a parking permit, you can purchase a one-day faculty/staff permit ($8) on the parking portal website. Note: parking garages may have different daily rates than F/S lots.
Lunch
Lunch is included on site for individuals who attend in person. The all-you-care-to-eat buffet at Turner Place at Lavery Hall will offer a wide variety of food for special dietary needs.
Attendance
Register for only one attendance option—either in person or virtually. If attendance plans change, email Jill O’Quin at oquin@vt.edu to cancel your original registration before submitting a new one.
