Roberta Polak is a Safety and Compliance officer at Virginia Tech Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and the EHS liaison for the Fralin Life Sciences Institute flagship buildings.

Prior to entering the EHS field, Roberta conducted doctoral and postdoctoral research in biomaterials which resulted in 11 peer-reviewed publications. With perspectives from both the bench and safety sides of academic research, her goal is to ensure that researchers can follow their scientific pursuits, safely.
