10x10 Training Series: Sponsored Projects
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and Financial Management invite you to the 10x10 Training Series: Sponsored Projects.
These quick, impactful 10-minute sessions are designed to promote accountability, transparency, and compliance in managing sponsored projects. The series also strengthens research administration and compliance across campus by focusing on three core areas:
- Overview of Research Administration: Understand the role and responsibilities of the Office of Sponsored Programs and the life cycle of an award.
- Research Compliance Best Practices: Explore guidelines and practical strategies to ensure compliance in sponsored research.
- Research Administration Tools and Platforms: Learn to navigate and utilize electronic research administration platforms to improve workflows, efficiency, and compliance.
Sessions will be held every Thursday, Mar. 5—May 7, from 3:50 to 4:00 p.m.

A subaward is a formal agreement issued by a prime recipient (such as Virginia Tech) to another organization to carry out a portion of a project. This session provides an overview of documentation required for issuing and managing subawards. |

Cost Sharing (also called matching) is the portion of a budget that is provided by sources other than the sponsor. This overview will identify various types of cost share allowed on sponsored projects and how to track cost share effort throughout a project. |
