Please review guidance for charging salary to federal financial assistance grants and cooperative agreements (not applicable to contracts).
Summer pay is not guaranteed compensation for faculty but can be charged for work being performed via telework if it benefits a sponsored project. If work cannot be performed, salary cannot be charged.
For new contracts executed for graduate students to work over the summer on a sponsored project, the students must be able to perform work either via telework or on campus in order to be paid on a sponsored project.
