Using a personal device can place your data at risk. There are remote access options such as a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection available for accessing research data. Please reach out to the Privacy and Research Data Protections program (prdp@vt.edu) if you or your IT personnel need guidance on selecting an appropriate tool. Keep in mind that a change to the storage or access to your data might require changes to your protocol and submission of an amendment.
