Leslie Thornton-O’Brien

Leslie Thornton-O’Brien joined the team as the Research Conflict of Interest Administrative Specialist. With over 15 years of higher education experience, she returned to Virginia Tech from her most recent position as the Selu Conservancy Coordinator and Public Relations Specialist at Radford University.

Leslie previously worked at Virginia Tech at both the Institute for Cricital Technology and Science and Continuing and Professional Education as a Project Manager. During her career in higher education, Leslie has gained experience in project planning, marketing/communications, as well as logistical support while placing special emphasis on developing relationships and supporting administrators, faculty, staff, students and industry professionals.

A Hokie, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in interdisciplinary studies, and is currently pursuing a master’s in strategic communications from Liberty University.
