Responsibilities

Kory Trott joined the Research Integrity and Consultation program in 2019.

Background

Before joining Virginia Tech, Kory worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) in Atlanta, where he started as a Presidential Management Fellow. The Presidential Management Fellows program is the federal government’s flagship leadership development program for early career graduate degree holders.

Upon completion of his postgraduate fellowship, he joined the Office of the Associate Director for Science, where he served as a member of the Public Health Ethics and Strategy Unit.  He provided ethics training to and consultation for the agency’s scientists. He served on the Zika Virus Policy Team in the CDC’s Emergency Operations Center. Prior to joining CDC, Kory worked as a reviewer for the University of Wisconsin Health Sciences Institutional Review Board.

Education

Kory holds a bachelor’s degree in biological anthropology from the George Washington University, as well as a master’s degree in public health from Drexel University, and a JD from the University of Wisconsin School of Law.
