Overview of Career Opportunities in Industry for Ph.D.'s and Postdocs

This seminar led by Lauren Celano, MBA, from Propel Careers will provide an overview of career opportunities in industry with emphasis on the various skills, aptitudes, competencies, and personalities that thrive in this sector. While many examples in this seminar will be life sciences focused, the information shared will be applicable to other career sectors and will be relevant to disciplines including biological sciences, engineering, chemistry, math/physics, psychology and other areas. 

Research and non-research career paths such as consulting, product development and business development will be discussed and advice will be given to help identify career paths that are a fit  for your interests.  The importance of transferable skills and how to highlight these for specific roles will be discussed as well. Propel will also provide advice on networking to identify career opportunities, ways to utilize informational interviewing and tips to tailor resumes and cover letters.
