How to Develop Career Relevant Skills in Academia

This seminar led by Lauren Celano, MBA, from Propel Careers will discuss ways to proactively build, develop, and enhance skills during your Ph.D. or postdoc in order to build skills that are valuable for your career.  This seminar will provide an overview of skills useful for both research and non-research careers such as consulting, business development, communications, and medical affairs.  This seminar will highlight how to build transferrable skills such as collaboration, leadership, management, and presentation skills as well as hard skills such as budgeting, vendor management, protocol development, and various writing skills. Additionally, this session will showcase how you highlight these skills on a resume so that organizations looking to hire you, can be aware of the value you bring to them.
